Color Me nice (ARTICLES)
There is this instinct in me to hate selfies. You know that self-taken pictures so common
nowadays simultaneous with the advent of
camera-featured phones, along with social media sites. People can now feature themselves sans photographer,
director, couturier, or even make-up artist.
Why you can even make your own movie to suit your narcissistic passion.
At the onset of it all, my belief that
man is primarily selfish really gets ground these days. What makes me wonder is the fact that I was
born and raised in an environment where humility is the greatest value. Much as
I would want to set aside at the corner of my mind the timidity of trying to
hold back something, still it strikes me that nowadays, being humble is
considered a negative attitude. For
people to follow you, a much younger friend has said you should always show
yourself as a viable commodity, with all the looks, talent, and anything that
you can offer and could possibly earn you some cash.
Pity today that the world is loaded
with narcissism that consideration for others is at times mostly set
aside. Why everyone of them tells me he
or she is handsome or beautiful, although at times I’m seeking the aid of
justice in their pronouncements. Yes,
people believe things are created once you believe, but this kind of thinking
has been abused since time.
There are people, who are, from what a popular beauty queen
once quoted “confidently beautiful”.
It’s just the confidence indeed.
A very powerful tool that people take advantage of. Some are even “confidently smart” in writing.
Yes, even in their posts, disregarding the taste for good spelling, grammar and
even sentence construction. And they
justify their actions by saying that social media is for everyone, not just for
the smart guys.
