The parable of The dog (ARTICLES)

I have always been fascinated with dogs. Dogs are everywhere. Any country, any geographical condition. There’s a dog suited to such.

For me, human experience is somehow related to canine. In my country, dogs have a usual tendency to be fierce. There is always this protective tendency they have for their masters. And I’m pretty sure their loyalty can never be equaled.

An unfamiliar dog sees you. It is suspicious of you. Some say if you look at the dog in the eye, it will get more furious. So prompted my fear for dogs as a child. Every time I spot a canine from a distance, I would be prompted to go another way. The thought of encountering a dog along the way was a serious matter to me. But of course this was a childhood issue.

In my older years I have met canines along the way. I call them obstacles. My problems are my lifetime dogs. The moment I try to run away from them, they keep chasing me, barking at me.
But wait, when I stop to face the dogs, they stop running after me, and yes, they bark for sometime, but soon gave up the drama and walked away slowly, each one of them.

One lesson I learned from dogs is facing a problem, no matter how difficult it is. It might be as ferocious as a pit-bull or as dainty as a pom, but still it is something that has to be encountered, think of what it thinks of me, calculate its motives, and before I know it, it is gone.

One rule of thumb in business is to never run away from anything that is complicated. Face the problem, whatever it takes. Get the details, plan, and execute. Problems have a way of walking away like dogs who lost the appetite and excitement for their prey.
