Kolaboti’s Desire (Story)

A story from many years ago. The king of one of the country was very generous. King hasn’t any sons, he has a daughter only. The princess looks very beautiful. King loved his daughter very much. King always tries to provide all of her expectations. It means if she wants stars from the sky, the king will try to complete her expectation.

Princess was very kind, friendly with the poor people, trying to help needful people always. Her name is “Princess Kolaboti”.

Slowly princess growing up. A day she is enough aged for marrying. King talks to her to marry any princes of any country. But princess expectation is different, she wants a simple man will be her husband. This regarding announcing it to in their country and nearest all countries, fixed a day for people come and get together an open ground, the princess will choose a person from there as her husband.

King never denies her expectation in his life, so king accepts that and announced it in his country and nearest many countries, peoples getting together an open ground. 

On a fixed day many people from several countries get together on a big ground to be husbands of  “Princess Kolaboti”. Many of the Princes also waiting there from several countries, to be the husband of “Princess Kolaboti”. All are thinking, Princess, should come and put a Garland on his neck!

After much waiting, “Princess Kalavati” came, slowly advancing towards the crowd of people. Finally, the garland was put on around the neck of an ordinary young man from the crowd. Everyone is surprised!! The princess's choose husband will be an ordinary young man!

But the king, as he said, married the boy with the princess and get them in the king's palace and they are living in the king's palace.

Days, months, years passed and the princess gave birth to a son. The king is very happy, he loves his grandson very much. Because he is the future heir.

The king brought for his grandson all kinds of expensive toys from abroad, but the funny thing is, the grandson left all the toys and played with the shoes only.

The king fell into anxiety, he thinks about it and harassing! Asking his mind from different angles and not getting any answer, he called the Royal astrologer of the country.

The Royal astrologer came to the king palace, calculated his astrology, and said that the husband of princess Kolaboti came from a shoemaker family.

The king was shocked to hear this! He sat in silence for a few minutes. Then, with a grief burdened heart the king said to peoples two lines-

“ Much love ruined the children

   Much freedom destroys the clan”.
